Hospitalist Program

Union Hospital Clinton is proud to provide hospitalist services to its patients.

Hospitalists are hospital-based physicians who assume the care of hospitalized patients in the place of the patients’ primary care physicians (PCP) that have chosen to participate. Hospitalists are considered an extension of the primary care doctor’s practice, providing treatment, planning the discharge and honoring the PCP’s existing referral relationship.

Union Hospital Clinton’s hospitalist Darren Brucken, M.D., is board-certified in family medicine. He received his medical degree from Indiana University and completed his residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Brucken works in tandem with internists, specialists and family medicine doctors to continue offering our patients the very best care.

Participation in the hospitalist program is voluntary and can be done on a case-by-case basis.
